Does Winter kill Hobbies or do Hobbies kill Winter?

Doing my usual Summer outdoor Hobbies that i have firmly integrated into my LiFeStyle have become utterly dormant in Winter. And expecting me to continue doing them in the time where the wind is made up of water-solid cristals flushing through every open part of my clothing with an anti-degree sting attatched to it, is CrazY! Whenever i go outside in Winter, i get cold – wet – and even colder. So i discontinue my Hobbies like: jogging, strolling, mountainbikeing, enjoying the outside brease, tanning, mountaineering, hiking… This leaves me with: A whole portion of my Hobbies in the fridge.

  • So i set out to see if there are any Hobbies out there that kill Winter.

    ... besides these ones

And some Hobbyfrogs claimed to have found the answer to what we can do outside in shrinkingly frigid Winters to keep us active and free of boredom:
    There is:

    Snow boarding
    Skiing
    Snowmobiling
    Ice climbing
    Figure skating
    Ice hockey…

    Coooool!
Sounds exciting and is definitly something i want to try for a day or even a week, but doing this as a frequent Hobby is just something not understood by many!

(i’m sure i’m not the only one whose ever asked themselves this question)
    Why?? o-Why would YOU?! ….
Why would someone deliberately put themselves in a position where they could potentially end up beiing tucked into a bed of ice – where you first get cold – and then even colder, over and over again?

    Solution 2 (Winter Hobbies):
    Bird watching
    Ice fishing
    Winter Travel
    Ice Hiking
    Snow flake collecting
    Snow-man building
    Winter Photography…

Outside! In Winter! Are you INSANE!?

I know that the result of doing these Hobbies is really rewarding in terms of social comunication, exploration, fun, freedom, faith and etc. i think however, that this is mainly because of the agony and preperation that one has to go through to achieve it.
Generally i would have no problem with getting up with the childlike excitement boiling in my chest in the morning and then spontainiously trying either of these out, but doing them repetetively i find unimaginable, simply beacuse most of these Hobbies are way to similar to standing in a bruttally cold landscape. And unless i can go outside without having frozen air going into my nostrils and my eyeballs tearing up from the chilly brease it’s not likely that i’m taking up any of these Hobbies anytime soon.

So to those Hobbyfrogs who do either of these Hobbies one question remains: ”What’s the deal?”

How to extend your Hobby fever!

By the time you have grown comfortable with your Hobby it’s already a big part of your LiFeRoutine. You no longer care about what you look like doing it, or if other people think that your doing it right, all you know is, is that you enjoy it. Wonderfull!! It’s almost like those moments where your not doing anything can now be filled with something that you love doing or love thinking of.

After a while you may feel like the rest of your day has worn you out to much and so thoughts of quiting may cross your mind and eventually passively pursuade you to make up an excuse for not going. Well, this happends to most of us who forgett why we initially started the Hobby. Was it to make some new friends, to enjoy the essence of what life has given us, or is it the excitement of exploring a new dimension for us to plot or creativity on… What we all must think to ourselves is: ”There must have been some reason why i longed to do this Hobby so much that i could hardly wait contiue where i left off.” – there must be a part of you that truely identifies you with this Hobby.

So motivate yourself – think of everything you’ve learned and gained – enjoy it for everything it gives you – Freedom.

    Hobbies for LiFe

Any crazy life loving enthusiast will tell you that it doesn’t matter on which side the grass is greener, because any grass can be made greener, it just depends what color grass you want.

Hobbies are a great way break free from our day-to-day LiFeroutine and go into a state where you can freely immerse and express yourself. Even though the most of us think that society contradicts to this philosophy, deep down most of know that at the end of the day LiFe is here to be enjoyed and not to be forgotten, and not much is stopping us from having that. John Lennon summed this philosophy up in one simple quote: “Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted”
